My unit does self scheduling and currently we work a holiday every other year (ie, TG and NY one year, Christmas the next, repeat). This year we had to work a day TOUCHING the holiday if we didn't work the actual holiday...which meant no one could go anywhere unless we had PTO already approved. We are looking for a new way to do holiday scheduling.... ideas??
