Hi am new here am a junior in high school i am really interested in going to the nursing field... i am taking A&P in high school... i love to be around people and kids.... and i know that this is the field that i want to go into! i think that i want to specialize in pediatric nursing does any one have any information or just thoughtful words for me? well thanks alot hope to hear from someone! thanks alot~kayla

Sorry it took me a day or two to get back....I'm studying for my bone test which is tomorrow...

I live in Athens, TN; Southeast TN; this is a very small town but we are almost exactly halfway between Knoxville and Chattanooga; in fact the school that I've applied to is in Athens however we will attend classes and clinicals in Knoxville

Nice to meet some other folks from TN :) Are either of you planning to go to UT? Or UTC?

Hey Heather, sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I'm still taking the pre-reqs. I would have been able to apply over the winter break for Fall '08 program, but I needed Chemistry. Grrr... Haha, oh well. Bones? We get into bones in the first few weeks of next semester. Now we're doing the Kreb cycle. Yuck. :) Good luck with the bones. There's a lot of helpful tips on here to help with that.

If all works out, I'll finish up all of my pre-reqs and then apply for Fall of '09. I'm thinking about getting my CNA over the summer so that I can get some good experience before I get into the program. Also, we've got a point-based admission, and the CNA helps a lot. :) Have you decided on a school/program?

Wow!! Congratulations on being so active in your pursuit of your nursing degree. I wish I knew during my Junior year of high school what I wanted to do.

I commend you for getting a jump start on your career goals. With determination and dedication you will be in great shape!!

I'm applying for APSU here in Clarksville since I will have all the pre-reqs they require after this semester. That sounds like a decent drive for clinicals. Good luck!!!
