Like they said they cant tell you when exactly they will call you but I took my net Nov.5th and was in the last batch of letters. Just had our info meeting today we start Aug.21st ! Take your NET asap (just from what I have noticed from past years if you take it now you will be able to start next fall 09' and remember its only 18 months thats better than ANYWHERE else) and you can postpone for 1 year if you need to!
Good luck you can do it and no other waitlists are shorter!

My honest opinion is to be realistic. It is great to have a passion for nursing, but lets face it. The programs are so competitive that it is not always realistic to wait to get in. The reality is that people have to pay bills and can't always put their lives on hold to wait to get into a program. After working my butt off I just received a denial letter from Baker. I did however get accepted to the Respiratory Therapy Program at Macomb. I have decided to go for it. I am married with two kids, one of whom will be in college soon. The reality is that I need to take care of my family and pay the bills. I will be eligible to reapply in the spring for nursing but I am hoping that I will be loving the RT program. Good Luck to You!!!
thank you for the email address i just emailed her. the thing with me is im very young i got married when i was 18 and now have a 6 month old and im 21. i really dont need to work right now and not in a huryy to work, school is more important to me and the only thing that intrests me is nursing... but when i talk to people at the nursing division i get mixed signals, one will tell me to find somthing elsei wont get in for another 2 years and another will say i should be in fall of 09 or winter 10.

If you don't mind my asking what was your GPA and scores on the compass for the RT program for Macomb?
jabraham99 if you don't mind me asking what was your GPA and test scores for the RT program at Macomb? Thanks
My GPA was 4.0. compass scores were 94 in writing and 90 reading, I think 65 in math (not sure)

Hi, If I were you I would take the last class you need to take and get on the list. If you find something else you want to do you can always do that in the meantime, but at least you will be on the list and will more than likely start next fall 09. I think one girl on the boards said she just got her letter for fall 09 and she was put on the list last December. So there is hope. It's only a year away and like you said, you're young and don't need to work at the moment, so what do you have to lose? Surgical Tech would take almost as long (I believe enterence is based on GPA) and if your heart is truely in Nursing, then you might as well go for your dream. Take it from me, I've wanted to be a Nurse for almost 7 years now and here I am 30 years old and just found out about the HFCC waitlist. I've wasted 5 years at Baker for nothing, I could have been a Nurse a long time ago.
Go for it, take the class and get on the list! :)

typhanie, I take it you got your denial letter. The cutoff was 22.6 points. Are you going to reapply?
No I actually didn't even apply, I still haven't taken Micro or Holistics. Once I found out about the waiting list at Henry Ford I decided to give up on Baker, take Chemistry at Macomb and get on the list. I don't want to waste my money taking the other 2 pre-req's just to get a denial letter. I would have already lost 2 points cause I had to re-take Math. (I took it online and failed the first time, the 2nd time I signed up for it but had to drop due to an emergency and I had to leave the state, they counted that towards me as taking it twice, therefore losing 2 points)
I can't believe Baker has 13 pre-req's just to apply to the program. That's more than any other college around here.

You are making a very smart decision by not wasting time at Baker. Good Luck at HFCC, maybe I will see about getting on the list. If you get on the list in December, when do you expect to be called for the program?
