Hesi Test

I am a first semester Nursing student and am taking the HESI next week for the first time. Could anyone who has taken the HESI give me any pointers or guide me in the right direction to get the materials so I can effectively study for it?? I am a nervous wreck, so any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you

Do you have the HESI study guide book that Evolve publishes? If so, that is really the only thing you need. If it is on the test, it is in that book. I promise.

We have HESI each semester, the best thing to do is do lots of practice NCLEx questions. I like Sauders, NCLEX 4000 and the HESI study guide. Some people like myself love HESI and do well while others struggle. The Fundamentals one is alot of common sense and safety stuff, so be familiar with delegating, infection control, patient safety, etc...

The Evolve website has a good HESI study book which has an online question-only portion you can purchase access to for $25. I've found that's helped the most for me.

Good luck!

The best way to study for HESI is to study your regular class topics - with the addition of using NCLEX review questions on the topics you are covering.

My program used the HESI tests to evaluate your stregths and weaknesses and give you a direction on what to work on. Hopefully your program does the same.

I did horrible on my first HESI exams, scoring in the 600's on one. I got better, finally getting over 1000 on the HESI RN Exit exam. Mostly due to experience taking that type of test and working on NCLEX strategy and sample questions.

Good luck.

If it is your first HESI then I am thinking it is your fundamentals HESI?? If so... just think no matter what the question think safety safety safety. What is going to keep your patient safe, what will kill, them the fastest, etc.

Get a HESI or NCLEX book and study study study. Then when you're ready to throw the book through the window, take a break & study some more ;) Remember to take breaks though and good luck! I just finished my first year. Two HESI's down. You can do it!

do you have the hesi study guide book that evolve publishes? if so, that is really the only thing you need. if it is on the test, it is in that book. i promise.

are you in the actual nursing program already?

get the hesi manual. is is extrememly helpful. it is a fair study guide with exception to the a&p section; you will have to pull out your a&p textbook and do some additional reading.

i took the hesi a2 exam today and passed it.
