HESI question

Hi all!

I'll be taking my FINAL hesi exam, aka the exit exam-the very last exam i have to take in my adn program! (took hesi on peds so i know the content). I would have asked my prof but I wont see her till the day of the test. My question: will it be a comprehensive test including peds,OB, psych and medsurg? or just medsurg? I've been hearing many different things.

I didnt know hesi also has review courses and materials for nclex. I like their questions a lot(from my experince w/ the peds hesi) and I would imagine this is how the NCLEX questions would look like. Anybody taken/bought them? $75 for review materials(book and a questions cd) isnt so bad at all, comparing to kaplan's book and 2-3 comprehensive tests.

I am only in my first semester & we had to take the HESI. One over fundamentals & one over pharm so I guess they can be combined to cover a variety of subjects. I had classmates who bought the HESI cd/studyguide & they said it was nothing like our test.I just looked over the basic stuff we had covered all year & there was things on it we had never covered. I did not think it was all that bad but only 3 people in our class passed. I was one of the three. I think if you have done well & paid attention in class done your reading you will be fine.From what I saw as questions if you have been doing nclex practice questions it is alot like that.Hope this helps you & good luck

Yeah, not to scare you but we took the Fundamentals HESI this semester and it killed us. Our instructor worked wo hard with the HESI people to raise our grades as much as possible. This was the first time my school had used this test, and no one knew what was on it, not even the faculty, although they decided to make it count for a third of our grade anyway. Luckily in the end it was curved like crazy. Out of 55 questions, I think the average number missed was somewhere around 20.

We all decided not to even study because we didn't know what to study. Studying wouldn't have really helped anyway. It's more about judgement. We were even told that you don't have to know the right answer, just the right way to answer the question. Assess before you intervene, etc. I guess that would be true for any subject the test is over. I wouldn't expect too many cut and dry technical questions, either. It's more like "the most appropriate intervention is..." Good luck - you sound pretty well prepared. :)

Weighing 25%, it would have been a tremendous help to my grade.

^^^Wow, you did great. I think the lowest number missed was 9 or 10 questions. Nooooo one made a 99 in our class.:)
