HESI A2-study tips

Just took the HESI A2 Exam (Biology, Math, Chemistry, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, and Vocabulary)

My scores:

Biology 92%

Math 100%

Chemistry 96%

Reading Comprehension 94%

Grammar 86%

Vocabulary 94%

The study tools I highly recommend are: Elsevier HESI A2 Exam Review 4th, and Pocket Prep app.

A lot of the questions I had on my exam were identical or extremely similar to the questions in the book and app.

We moved your thread to our HESI Exam forum.

Hello, what kind of math questions did the test have?

  • Author

lots of "complete the ratio" problems. and adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing fractions

Like 4:9 5:X? (Ratio)

Yes, lots of those

Are the vocabulary words straight from the hesi book?

  • Author

a lot of them were. others were not, but they were in sentences so you could use context

How long did you study for? I studied for 2 months.

I studied a lot during the summer, and once school started I just reviewed the material. you should be fine with 2 months.

Also with the HESI testing program, I could not go back and review questions. Once you select an answer and then press the button "submit and go to next question" you cannot go back to double check your answers.

I feel I'm confident about this test, I been using the app and the hesi booklet. I haven't really used any other resource to study this material beside , (anatomy and physiology book). I take the test on the 22 of October , so hopefully I do well!

you'll do fine. the exam for LSU does not require Anatomy and physiology. unless you're applying to another school as well.
