Hello I wanted to ask if anyone got into a nursing program with a C+ in anatomy and physiology 2 The rest of my requirements are B's and B+ . I was also going to apply with a 58.7% on the tease exam . Do you think I have a good chance of getting in? Also would you guys recommend taking micro before the nursing program or after the nursing program ? I don't want to take it before the nursing program and get a C or something and I don't get accepted . But on the other hand people say to wait and take it while your in the program . What would be a smart move?

    I would just caution you: if you are not strong in Physiology, Med Surg in nursing school is going to be difficult for you. How are you going to understand the pathophysiology of each body system if you don't have a solid foundation in physiology? The students who struggled the most in nursing school were the ones who struggled in physiology and pharmacology in pre-reqs.

    I'm not trying to be discouraging, but I would highly suggest if your school allows you to replace grades to re-take physiology to raise it from a C to a higher grade. You really need to be solid in this category. Nursing isn't about memorizing facts and systems, it's about synthesizing the information you've learned and applying it to real situations. You need to have a thorough understanding of physiology.

    You stated above that you "missed a few quizzes" which is why your grade was lower. You can't do that in nursing school. Many programs don't allow you to miss assignments, especially quizzes and exams. Your performance in pre-requisites allow the nursing program to see your performance. If you don't put the full effort in to the pre-reqs, how will they know you'll give enough effort in nursing school?

    It's not a race to finish nursing school. If it means applying next year, it would be better to raise your grades and do better on the TEAS than apply with the bare minimum.

    The fact that any school anywhere lets people into nursing programs with less than 59% on TEAS is frightening. That's just mining people for tuition money and setting them up to fail. That's an F on basic high school knowledge. How can they think they'll be able to handle a nursing curriculum?!
