Extra study material apps etc. study tips.

Saunders Comprehensive Review, helped with exams

There is a PDQ RN that I used during clinicals that was nice to have handy

I also bought NCLEX-RN made easy, it was basically a book of questions and I'd do extra questions on the unit we were currently studying

Congrats on starting nursing school! My advice is to not overload yourself with extras. They've assigned all the readings you need and having lots of extra study stuff may serve as a distraction from what you should be studying. (JMO).. the NCLEX reviews are good for preparing for the HESI and for getting used to answering NCLEX type questions you'll find on your exams. What I did to practice that was download free apps on my phone and whenever I had a few minutes to burn I would do practice questions. Outside of that, stick to your assigned reading. Consider putting together a study group. Split up the chapters (have everyone outline a chapter)- get together and study together, explaining and asking each other questions if you don't understand. Before tests you should have a good outline of all the chapters and an understanding of the material because you've talked it out with others!

Good luck!

Thanks Moonchild86 .That make perfect sense because there sure is a lot of reading already assigned. Did you read all the assigned reasons or did you let the objectives drive your reading?
