I wasn't reall sure where to put this but I figured everyone would look at it. My situation is a little confusing, so I'll kind of list it.

I'm going to community college in NC.

I am going to need a nursing license in NJ.

I am moving to NJ at the end of the year.

I'm only in my first year of college.

I plan on getting a 4 year RN BSN

There is no getting around the fact that I need to move at the end of this year, my husband lives there. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas besides the ones I've come up with or any advice.

PS does NJ have appenticeship in nursing? I heard of someone going to Virginia after her two years and working as a nurse than taking her nclex after a year.

Find out if the credits you have earned from your current college will be accepted at the NJ college you want to attend.

I think you have to go thru school before being allowed to sit for your boards. I have never heard of this and am sure that if it were true many would do this.

This is pretty confusing. You're going to a community college right now, and then will transfer to a 4 year university to go to nursing school when you move to NJ? If this is the case, since you're only in your first year of school and are probably just taking prereqs for the nursing program, you just need to transfer these credits to whatever university you'll be going to. Then you will apply to the nursing school at that university. Your school will help you get all of the information you'll need to take your boards. And you can't practice as a RN unless you've passed the NCLEX. It's illegal. Maybe the person you heard of was working as a CNA for that year. Hope this helped.
