If you really want to be an NP go for the nursing route. Find another LPN program and speak to an advisor about your options. Good luck

I agree... EMTs have vitally important jobs, but it's a very specific skill set and not exactly a stepping stone to becoming an NP. Becoming an LPN is; you would learn to practice from the nursing model. You may be able to get some prereq's waived if you became an EMT (e.g. A&P... I'm assuming they have to take it)... BUT you still would have the whole *core* nursing program ahead of you. Plus, RN education expands on what a practicing LPN already knows.

Is CCRI's nursing program a BSN program? Are there any good ADN programs near you? If so, you should look at that option. Either of the ADN RN or LPN options would allow you to get into the workforce relatively quickly. If you became an RN first, you have more flexibility for obtaining your BSN. There are very reputable online RN-to-BSN programs these days! Online LPN-to-RN programs are rare, as RN programs have such heavy clinical components.

My possible concern with this option is: is your area saturated with BSN nurses, or is there a strong preference for BSN nurses? In other words, can you reasonably expect to get a job upon graduation? The online BSN programs typically require their students to have nursing experience, or even require that students work as an RN during the program.
