We don't know what the GPAs & TEAS scores that are required to get into the program or the grades & scores of those who were admitted.

I know for the RN programs near me that would not gain you admittance. Call the nursing department for the best answer.

Go to a Community College. You are in a vulnerable position right now and that makes you a prime target to get the call or email from one the for-profits offering to make all your nursing dreams come true.

I know many people who had less than stellar grades than you who are doctors and nurses.

The two things you need are patience and diligenge and over time you will succeed.

Just don't be desperate. The wolves love that scent.

You need to identify the minimum requirements necessary for the specific nursing programs in which you plan on applying for. Different schools have different requirements. Some require micro before starting, other allow it to be taken during the program. Some have a minimum gpa requirement of a 2.5 other a 3.0. Some want a high TEAS score, other don't require the TEAS at all.

I can tell you the community colleges near me are extremely competitive and you would not be accepted with your current scores, but you may live in a less impacted location which does not have nearly the same level of competition.

I know a bunch of people have said this to you on a bunch of threads you posted (me included) but you can't ask a general question like that and get a correct answer, or an answer that will mean anything to you.

The answer to every question you ask is "it depends on the school's requirements". Every question, every answer.

If someone tells you there's no problem to get into a nursing program with a 2.9 and you then get rejected because the minimum at the school you apply to is a 3.5, it was a waste of an application fee. If someone says no way can you get in with that GPA and it turns out there's a school near you that will take that GPA but you didn't apply because you thought it too low, it's only you who ends up paying the price for listening to random people on the internet.

GO to the school, or call the academic and/or nursing advisors, and ask these questions to the people at the schools you want to attend. Anything else is a complete waste of time. Good luck.

I understand you are applying to NYIT, and I believe they accept as low as 2.75 GPA. I have friends in the program currently, and they applied with 3.4-3.5 and got in easily. Remember, with NYIT, there are recommendation letters and personal statements that come into play when making their decision. They typically take 4-6 weeks after you have submitted your application to get a decision.

Also, they do not take TEAS examination score into mind when making a decision. That is only required once you are admitted into the program, and that too, only for placement purposes...but don't quote me on that. I have also applied to some nursing programs for admittance into this Fall and have also received a C+ in one of my anatomy courses...but my other grades are solid! Mostly A's and some B's in pre-reqs. Classes like micro, patho, nutrition, chemistry, all have gotten A's, so that might tilt the scale a bit. Because i did poorly on that anatomy class, I went and got a recommendation from that professor who nevertheless, vouched for my admittance.

In your position, if your recommendation letters and statement solid, you should have a decent chance. There was also an opportunity for you to go in directly and speak with admissions to get an on-spot decision. Fret not, e-mails and letters should be sent out shortly. Good luck to you!
