Okay I am not a very online class friendly person but considering my work schedule I had no choice but to take an online Microbiology ease anyone who took it at OCC tell me your experience as far as study, lab tests and difficulty.

Even though I did not take my Micro class online, I almost wished that I had! (I don't think my school offers it anyway, though).
1. The lecture portion should not be that bad online. Our professor actually uploaded each of her lectures to some website so that we could go and listen to them at our leisure, or if you missed a class. So, if that's the format of your online class, I honestly don't think lecture would be tough.
2. Lab. Oh my goodness, how I wish my lab would've been online. My actual hands-on lab was SO disorganized. Not enough profs and aides to go around and general confusion through the 2 hours we were there. When they put resources online (pictures of cultures and charts) was the only time I really understood and nailed down some key concepts.
Honestly, I wouldn't stress. If you work hard, plan well, and keep up with your assignments, it shouldn't be that bad. Who knows, you may like taking online classes :)
Good luck!

I took a hybrid (mostly online and then 8 classes) it wasn't too bad, you just need to make sure you set time to do it and don't put it off just because you can do it in your Jammie's
Thank you I really am worried about taking it along with patho because I work so many hours but I only need 4 classes then I get to quit my job and just go to school full time oh and suggestions on where to take intro to chem I hear that class is a killer
I take all my online classes from community college of vt or nhti, accredited, transferable (from what I've found) and not terribly expensive
I have been trying to gather information on occ microbiology and chemistry I would really like to talk to people that have had these classes but I can't private message. I don't know whether or not to take these classes online at occ or in the classroom locally please help :)

Good day, Tiffaniebush:
I'm not familiar with OCC, but would recommend the classroom setting for any of the core sciences including microbiology.
Thank you.
That's kind of what I figured only thing is that none of the schools around me offer in the afternoon and with my work schedule I can't take classes during the day I only need microbiology and chemistry to enter the nursing program then I will quit working altogether but that's still two semesters of me working I have four kids so I can't afford to quit my job now, And no one will pay what I make now so I can't find another job to work with my schedule

Which OCC? There are several schools with those initials.

Look in the NJ forum. They are older threads but still relevant.
