I need tips and ideas on how to study for anatomy and physiology. I just barely skinned by on A&P 1 and need to do better this term on A&PII. ANY good ideas to retain all the information. I study A lot, maybe tooooooooo much but don't do well at remembering it

You just need to try another method. Try teaching others the material. Friend, parent, cat... anything. It will really help you. If you understand it enough to explain it to a child then you know you've got it.

hi there.. I know allll about the A&P blues!
Do you record your lectures? this is what helped me my SECOND time taking a&P1. listening to the lectures while reviewing the notes. and also reading out loud. I also made sure I did not study past 1130 pm ( even that was a bit late) only bc I realized that it was harder for me to remember the information that I read at 12 1 2 am! Sleep is def needed. Even if you feel as if your "wide awake" this was something I did the first time and it did not help me. make sure to take small 5 min breaks in between. breath and pray :) good luck!!!

Best thing to do is test yourself. Read up about one aspect like skeletal system, make some notes, create a quiz, then test yourself to see what you can remember.
This guy, does you tube videos which are really good

I made notecards of everything I needed to work on, and went through them repeatedly. Carried them with me everywhere. Once I learned a notecard, I took it out of the mix, and if I knew certain things on the card, but not others, I needed to focus on those things. Sometimes I'd do visual stuff on the cards, because during my exams, I could visualize the card and what was on it.
For physical structures, systems, blood flow, RAAS, WBCs, etc, I would draw them out and color them. It made me pay a lot of attention to the details, and the process of making the cards was half of the learning (same with the written stuff).
That's just what worked for me. :)
Whatever it is that's not working for you, DON'T DO IT. Try a couple of new tactics the first couple of weeks of school, and see what helps you retain stuff.
Are you a visual learner, kinetic, audio? Knowing that helps a lot.

I got an Anatomy coloring book at Barnes and Noble and it has helped so much! You might also try watching some YouTube videos.

Good day:
For me, I spent a lot of time in the lab and model room as it related to the lab section. I handled the models, took pictures, created my own study guides, etc. For the lecture portion, reading the book, recording lectures, listening to those recordings every single chance I could, creating flash cards, doing the quizzes at the back of each chapter, and being a part of a very small study group helped a lot.
Thank you.

For me, going to the lab early and looking at slides, etc has helped a lot. My teacher gives all her tests that way... we don't have a diagram that we label, etc... she has us look through the microscope to identify types of tissues, or look at a model of a human leg to identify leg muscles, etc. I really like that because I feel like it's better preparing me for the real world, however... makes it harder to study from home.
