HELP

Hello Everyone,

Im writing to get some advice and/or help. I am very sad and sorry for what I have done. :uhoh3:I lost my job today at the nursing home where I worked. I was fired for falsifying a record. HERE'S MY STORY: Last Friday when I worked 7p-7am, I gave narcotics on a resident 2 hours too early. Yes, I did get report from the previous nurse that he last received it at 6pm but when I gave him his medication at 8pm, I acidentally gave him pain medication again. The order was for two vicodins q4hours prn. He asked for his pain medication when I gave him his pills and failed to look at my report sheet. After I popped the pills out and gave all his meds to him, I signed the narc sheet and saw what I had did and that the previous nurse had just have hers at 6pm. Well at this point in time, Im feeling like an IDIOT, so I wrote over her 6pm and put 6am, to make it look like I did not give it too soon. I was fired today, and did not admit to it, I didnt want to look like a dumda**. Now that DON is going to send to the paperwork to the board of nursing on falsifying records against me. Does anyone know whats going to happen? Ive worked for five years as a LPN and Ive never done anything like this. :crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2:

What do you think would have happened if you had just admitted your mistake and not wrote over the previous info?
