HELP!!!!!!! I failed in the first semster of the second year of my nursing program. I've been put on hold since then by the dean. Every semester I'm told I'm on the wait-list and that I have to wait my turn to be reinstated. I've been taking classes just to build my GPA and it's been a year since I actually taken nursing classes. I've been thinking about moving on to an LPN program, but I afraid that if I do get accepted into an LPN program that's when I'll be called back into my (current/previous) progam. Can anybody help my with any suggestions. All comments and suggestions are welcome.

well, how long are you willing to wait for them? were you in a 2 year or 4 year nursing program? i had to drop out my 2nd to last class from a traditional nursing program and later on i went on to apply to Excelsior College. If you have completed over 50% of your previous nursing school program why don't you check them out at excelsior.edu. that is if you want to move on. but again, its based on how long you are willing to wait on your school.

hope this helps

Have you found out about this Fall yet? Hopefully you can restart this Fall.

Ask the school if you are next on the list to be readmitted. If not, I would start the LPN program unless you are willing to wait another semester. Or, you can start the Excelsior College program now if you meet the requirements. If there are only one or two people ahead of you, you might want to consider waiting one more semester, but no longer. It is time to get moving on with your life.

Thanks Smitt 10 for the advice. It's a 2 year program and I've sat out a year already. I have a child I have to take care of and I'm ready to move on with my life. I'm going to check into this program you mentioned. I was half way through the program. One thing I've learned is that obtaining your nursing degree is not easy like a lot of people think it is.

Again thank you for your help :)

I will not be starting in the fall, because I was told that there isn't enough room for the students that has to be readmitted. And there's no diffenant yes on the winter semster either. I think I will look into this

excelsior program they may be the answer to my prayer. At this point I'm willing to obtain my LPN and get my RN later. I live with a house full of people and I'm not happy at all. If this program is right for me then I will start it. But what I would like to know is this a LPN or RN program? At this point it really dosen't matter.

Tahnks for all the comments
