Only you are going to be able to decide what is the best specialty for you. Look at what interests you the most and then try to get experience in that area. If it doesn't work out like you initially thought, move on to something else.
I'm also not sure what will be my favorite, however I already have some ideas about what I would like to try, due to what motivates me personally.
For me Peds/OB is out. This I will have to leave to the nurses who are spiritually stronger than myself. Thank goodness their are plenty of nurses out there who love this area of nursing.
Geriatric/LTC nursing is not for me. Although to be honest, its not the patient population that puts me off, but the medical establishment issues that go along with caring for these individuals.
Knowing how I like to think, makes me speculate that I might find a good fit in ICU areas, where I'm totally responsible for 1-2 patients. But you know what? If I try it and it's not for me, I know that there are plenty of other areas out there for me to try and find my niche.
Good luck finding your place.

I would say working in the area will let you know if you like it, also as a student working in some areas will say whether it is an area you have an interest in. You may also find you move around until you find something that interests you. I have done a few things and most are different to how I saw my career going as a student
