I read about this on this site somewhere. If you live in California, you can sit for the Nclex-pn after working as a CNA for 5 years and taking a pharmacology course and a few others. You have to have so many hours clocked in for being a CNA in Med-surg, Maternity, Peds, etc. This program is NOT available outside of California. Therefore, you can't sit for the test there and transfer it outside the state.
If you want more information, check out the California Board of Nursing for LPN's (called LVN's there).
I really don't know anything else since I don't live in that state. Like I said, I just read about that on this site somewhere.
Good luck.
thanks for your help!!
