Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm currently enrolled in an RN-BSN program in Miami, FL. I'm half way through the program and I'm currently taking a leadership course where I have to interview a nurse. I can't interview any of the faculty and it's hard to get anyone at my clinical site to answer these questions. If anybody can please help with this project, I will forever be thankful! The questions are as follows:

  1. Tell me what leadership position you have in this organization?
  2. What formal/informal leadership positions have you held in your career?
  3. How long have you been a nurse?
  4. How did your organization prepare you for your position?
  5. Describe your leadership style or your model of leadership for me?
  6. What do you consider the most important characteristics of a nurse leader?
  7. You give me an example of how you empower your employees?
  8. Describe a change that you and your staff/colleagues have been directly involved in this year?
  9. What advice do you have for a novice nurse /novice nurse leader?
  10. Is there anything else that you would like to tell me?

Thank you!

Hello and welcome to allnurses.com

We moved your thread to the Nursing Student Assistance forum where other Nurses will come along and assist you.

Good luck in your nursing program and we hope you enjoy allnurses.com.

There are plenty of nurses in leadership positions outside your hospital or clinical site. Amaze your faculty by thinking outside that box ... and we don't do student questionnaires here because you don't know, and cannot possibly know, whether the person who responds to you is actually a nurse. Your faculty will NOT be impressed by your citation of an anonymous poster on an online board.

Try:

School nurse at the public school department

Head nurse in your college health clinic

Nurse in the military reserve unit in your county

Nurse in the local jail or prison

Hospice nurse

State nursing association

State nurse practice advisory panel at the BoN

BoN, for that matter

Part of the rationale for this assignment is to get you to look at other settings where nurses give leadership. Go find them.
