Help me prepare for the NET!

Published

I'm going to take the NET exam for the second time next week and I'm so nervous! I already took it 6 weeks ago (of course) and I passed the math portion with flying colors but bombed the reading. And I always had very good reading scores in high school. I know this isn't your typical reading test either. I have been studying like crazy but I still do not feel prepared enough. I bought the study guide and practice tests from eriworld (practice test sucked:() and I bought another practice tests from morrison media which was a little better. But they just seemed so much easier than the real thing. So if anyone knows of a good preactice test or sight I could go to, PLEASE let me know. I know the result of my test definatly depends on how prepared and confident I feel, and I'm not feeling much of either:cry:. Please help!

Ok, here we go...

On the math there are no word problems, maybe 1 problem on ratio, but nothing hard, the algebra is pretty easy

if you can go to the websites that i have listed on section 2 of my steps and solve those problems, i can asure that you do excelent on math

just as a reminder:

"2 go to www.testprepreview.com and download and print their NET nurse entrance test, youll find it on the left hand side. then once you have it, you print it about 10 copies and staple 10 sets, they will be your everyday practice sets. now that you have done that, you will go to http://www.midland.edu/~hsd/pdf/8-NET_Test.pdf and do the exact same thing, make 10 copies and staple the sets, this is another GREAT EXCELENT exam and both of them are lets say 99% of what you need to know to score at least a 85 on your net and I GUARANTEE IT!."

regarding the reading questions, its 100% critical thinking, they get a stupid scientific related or some sort of study/research related test, that is not interesting at all, and they have you read it (try to concentrate since the material is so stupid it is easy to loose your focus)....

the reading part is 50% concentration 25% critical thinking 25% logic and vocabulary!

just pay attention, concentrate and you will do awesome! :D ________________________________________________________

go to my NET help thread~!

I am not worried about the math portion at all because I am fairly good at it and it's just basic math on the test. I got a 98 for the math the first time I took it, but a 55 on the reading:eek:! I went to the websight testprepreview and took their reading test and it just seemed easier than the NET. Is any one of the three NET tests easier? I appreciate your help Csantos, but how would taking the same test over and over help me with a new test? I think I googled just about every possible thing about the NET and I think I'm running out of things to study. I have a few study guides (eriworld, secrets of the NET), but i just feel like I need more to study. :stone IDK! I'm just very nervous and anxious. Any advice from anyone?:banghead:

I was in the same boat. I was so nervous when I had to take it a 2nd time, because at my school, failing 3 times meant you couldn't be in the program. I did really well in the math but sucked at the reading. I had to take it twice and thank God I passed the second time, but the key to be successful in the reading is this; make sure you do all of the questions, don't leave any blank or skip any. Also, the second time around, I studied but didn't really obsess with the reading. What will help as well, is the fact that, you now know what to expect. Read anything you can get your hands on, say a prayer, answer ALL the questions and I bet you will pass this time.

make sure that your mind is clear, fresh, try not to think too much before the test, listen to some ipod, and such that will keep your brain fresh and away from things that will distract you!

forget about bills/ car payment/ insurance/ bla bla bla bla bla

you are only going to relax!!!!!

Thank you both soo much! It feels really awesome to have the support of other people!:D
