Help me please!

Hello, I am new to this and need all the help i can get!

In March of 08 i graduated and received my Associate of Science in Nursing degree. But due to a parents death and a lot going on, i have not taken the NCLEX exam nor worked anywhere. Now that things have settled down, i was wondering what would be the best route to take? Is there anywhere i can get employed while studying for the exam?

How do i even go about employment...i have my degree but not 'licensed'.

What is the best way to study for the exam with me being out of school a couple of months and when i am ready for the exam what is the steps i need to take to get registered for the exam?

Will anyone hire me right now, without taken the exam yet?

Thank you for your input!!

some places will hire you, but not as a nurse but something like a grad tech.

as far as nclex, you just need to study March isn't that long ago.

Good luck

It has not been too long. I would apply anyway and see what happens. Good luck to you!

if you do choose to start a graduate rn position, in which some hospitals do offer, pending an rn license, then i also think you need to consider if this will be effective for your studies - orientation can be pretty intense and doesn't leave a lot of room for outside study, however it is do-able; i know of one rn who chose that route, and she found the hospital setting while she studied further implanted the information in her head for when she took the exam.

i was offered a position as a graduate rn, however studying for the nclex and beginning a new position that required a great deal of focus wasn't for me. i chose alternate employement while i studied.

p.s - best of luck to you

I agree you do need to stufy but it hasn't been that long ago that you graduated. I am an "oldie " who took boards the old way. Graduated in May and took boards in July. Just studied, studied, studied. Passed the first time. Good luck !!

Try the Hurst Review Course they have an online review course. I took the live review and we had access to the online review - it was just as good. I HIGHLY reccommend the Hurst review to everyone studying for the NCLEX. It is expensive, but WELL WORTH the money!
