I don't normally ask for help with careplans on here; I am a second year ADN nursing student who usually does pretty well on care plans. However Im stumped on my recent peds patient that I am sharing with another student and we cannot have the same careplan. My6 yr old pt has pneumonia, downs syndrome, GERD,& epilepsy. A HX of T&A, Dehydration, duodonal atresia at birth, PDA, Cholesteatoma removal.

My partner is doing airway and I was thinking Fluid volume deficit for mine, but am not sure about it as far as Maslow. I was hoping to get some ideas for nursing dx and their outcomes.
Thanks in advance!

Ok, I get what your saying with the risk for aspiration; however should I really be putting a risk for before an actual nursing diagnosis? Her mom is at her side at all times, the child has had no episodes of aspiration in the past and she has a wonderful appetite. Im thinking fluid volume deficit, dont know what to relate it to.
