HELP!!!!! I have a friend who has graduated from a bsn program and not passed boards twice. Any study suggestions would be greatly appreciated!:nurse:

You have passed nursing school and graduated. The information you need is in your brain - you may not believe that it is, but somewhere it truly is!! Preparing for the NCLEX is not about studying - you've done that. Take a lot of tests, we were told to do 100 questions a day for 30 days. When you do the test questions - always read the explainations whether you got it right or wrong - it just reinforces the information.

Good Luck!!

I had a friend who failed her boards 4x she went to Dr. Martin nursing review and now she is a RN google Dr. Martin Nursing nclex review to see if she come close to your area!:typing

Hi! please don't despair if you still haven't passed the boards. I would however emphasize acquiring most latest Saunders Comp review and Q & As. Once, I almost opted to just settle with an older version but later I had to not sell myself short because after all, most of the work we've managed to accomplished esp. school are behind us now not that we won't continue with CEUs. You're only an arm away---check all NCLEX forum postings everyday, new Qs come up everytime and they are quick to address issues. Similar questions but often different answers--check it out----daily. Best of luck.:yeah:

My advice to you is.....KAPLAN. Get the Q-bank. The set-up is extremely similar to the Boards, as are the questions! I think it is pretty pricy. But, I can still remember questions from my Boards that came directly from Kaplan.

Here are some other suggestions.....DO NOT review your content from school! It's simply too much to go over prior to the Boards. Try to do as many review questions (computer-style) as you can. That will help you!

Delegation and ABC's are most important for the Boards. Know that only an RN can assess pain...not an LPN!! Know that if a patient is bleeding out in front of you, you would still assess the patient with an airway issue FIRST!!! Study the classifications of drugs....not each and every drug! Lasix and Dig. are the most frequently used drugs for Boards' questions. Know what they do!!!

REMEMBER... The Boards are NOT an indication of how smart you are, or aren't. The Boards are, however, an indication of how safe the state feels you are to practice nursing. Hope this helps!! Good luck!!!! ~ Kali :nuke:
