Help with obstetrics please

hi. Im am canadian nursing student doing my 4th session in obstetrics/pediatrics and we are presently doing our internship in obstetrics. I need serious help in administration of iv meds and piggy bags primary and secondary infusions. for example do you clamp the primary while giving the secondary? and how do you rinse. Id appreciate if anyone has any tips for postpartum care since its what we are doing next week. Thanks!:nurse:

here i two websites you can check out for information on iv's and iv piggyback administration.

http://www.cotc.edu/professional/streaming/archive/nursing.htm - streaming videos from central ohio technical college - click on "intravenous medication administration - piggy back". will need a real one player to see the video. there may be some other videos here you might find helpful.

http://teach.lanecc.edu/nursingskills/index.htm - at this page of links you will find links to pages of procedures with some pictures. there are a lot of iv maintenance procedures listed here.
