You don't have any responses here. My initial response was, "You can't be serious."
But I will take you at your word.
What I have found useful is to scan the covers of the journals in the hospital's library. Look especially for journals related to ER. It's like shopping for a topic. Something is sure to catch your eye and there should be references in the articles to get you started.
I wish you good luck.
yes i am serious and i think i have better things to do such as trying to learn the job but its req for the new grad program
thanks for tip:banghead:

Does your facility have a medical library or access to one? Get together with the medical librarian to find out what materials he/she can get you access to for ER subjects. The Journal of Emergency Nursing (http://www.ena.org/publications/jen/) published by the Emergency Nurses Association should have extracts of nursing research articles in them. That would be one place to start looking for topics or have a medical librarian get for you. Some of these journals might be floating around your department. Ask your manager if they know where you can find them.

I had to do an EBP project in school and personally I did it on the best technique for cleaning an IV site prior to insertion. There were as many topics as there were students though, although I admit we all had a tough time finding articles for our research. If your hospital has a Medical Library they may be able to put a research packet together for you, or gather articles related to your topic. Good luck :)
