HELP. Need FNP advice

Specialties NP

Published

Hi all. I'm graduating in May with my FNP. I'm crippled with fear that I won't find a job. When should I start applying to places?? I'm a NURSE corps scholar so I have to work somewhere with a HPSA > 14. Living in OR, outside Portland.

Tips please. I'm doing my final rotations at large family practice clinic if that matters at all.

This is a site I bumped into after searching your question online:

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Join your states' APRN organization, attend meetings, network.

Contact some alumni from your school and see if they know of any jobs.

Best wishes

I also won a HRSA scholarship and had no trouble finding a job. You have to work in an underserved area, and those areas are desperate for providers. I got 9 job offers in the Western US. Put together a good resume, do a lot of networking, have a good profile on LinkedIn and put your resume on all the recruiting sites like Indeed, etc. Good luck.
