i am currently in the msn program at uofp. it is a great program, but very hard work. you need good writing and research skills to get through the program and must be able to do your work with little help from the instructors.

Any Walden RN-MSN folks out there? Please comment!!

I am also trying to decide between the two. I talked to Walden counselor today. Sounds like Walden is slightly cheaper at $350 per unit. Their classes are 8 weeks long (Phoenix is 6 weeks long) and it takes about 3 years to complete (no doubling up on classes the way you do at Phoenix). You must take one after another. The MSN program is 2 years old (per the counselor).

I also did the MSN through UofP and found it very fast-paced. I did double all classes and skipped all breaks and did it in a year. However, my ultimate goal was to be an advanced practice nurse so I did an additional year at a post-MSN CNS program.

I graduated in May 05 and now looking back, know that it was a very hard year (no vacation, no breaks). However, glad that I did it.
