Help, with getting into Nursing School

Published

Hi all,

I'm constantly on this site reviewing what people have said. I am applying to Denver School of Nursing, and I want to know if I can get in. My undergrad GPA is kinda low with a 2.687, so a 2.7. My prereqs are currently at a 3.0, and will be raised after my current semester. I also have good volunteer experience, and have been a CNA for over a year. I'm really worried because I know I'd be a great nurse... but after already getting into my pre-reqs, I have realized my undergrad might screw me over. looking for hopeful, or any news!

Thanks,

Welcome to Allnurses.com!

Denver School of Nursing is an investor-owned entity, so there is a chance you will be accepted into the nursing program. For-profit schools usually have admissions standards that are more lax than most nonprofit colleges and universities.

Good luck to you!

It really depends on who else is applying. If enough people have higher GPA's or more impressive applications, than you are probably not going to get accepted.

Thank you for the comment back. Since there GPA requirement was only a 2.5, I thought my chances would be okay. I'm hopeful, but still quite nervous. I don't really know what other options would be... since I can't change my undergrad!
