Hi, I made a D on the English Composition exam, but passed the College Writing exam first time. Unlike English Comp, College Writing gives you all the information you need in the prompt. I found it much easier. Zoey

Hi Zoey,

I take College Writing next Fri (Jan 26)......I am a little nervous. How would you rate your writing skills? What grade did you get on College Writing? I am praying for a "C" at least. Thanks for any input on this ;)

Hi, I'm not the best writer in the world, but I did make a C and that's all that mattered. It was the last 3 credits I needed before my CPNE. Zola

It will also be my last 3 credits before my CPNE. What score did you get on your essays? Does it say after with your grade? I submitted several essays on Excelsior's writing tools........my average is a 5. I had a 6 on one essay and a 4 on another.....but on 4 I had a 5. Thanks for your input.......

It doesn't give individual grades. Since you are scoring above 4 on most of your essays, I don't think you will have any problem passing.

I did the clep course for all my English classes including composition. Did the class in one month. There's only one test at the end and you have to write a small essay.

Is this accepted by excelsior? Just wondering? Good Luck to all!

Yes, I was in the program when I did it. I did all my general education courses that way and it took me a month to finish each one. (It was all I did, every spare moment for thirty days. You could take longer if you needed.)It takes a lot of dicipline and study time.

I clepped English comp I and English comp II, sociolgy, psychology, human growth and development and American literature. It really saved me a lot of time.

Thanks so much for the info.
