Good morning everybody, I am struggling with my dissertation title. My title would be "Does patient education improve the quality of life of patients with COPD?" Now because I am hospital based and I work in a high care environment, I am not sure if this is appropriate. My dilemma is either pulmonary rehab or general self management including inhalers techniques. The problem is that early mobilisation and therefore pulmonary rehab is mainly performed by physiotherapist and condition management is mainly performed in primary care. I just need to find a title suitable for a hospital based patient. It would be very much appreciated if anybody had any suggestions or advice.

Can you give a bit more detail, what course are you doing, how long is your dissertation and what's the brief. Does it need to be research or a literature review.
Also what speciality do you work in within acute care
Hi and thank you for replying. The dissertation is research based and needs to be 10,000 words long . the area I work in is respiratory HDU.
Thanks!
Ok, thoughts are if you choose a subject that isn't directly relayed to your area your going to struggle.
You need to think of something that really interests you and has sufficient literature to support your work.
You say about inhaler technique, is there something that you do in your area that relates to this? To give you a focus to start you off
All I do is all very clinical, mainly using cpap and bipap for type 1 and II respiratoru failure, looked at use of nebulisation during bipap for copd patients but thought too broad. now focusing on teaching patients to self manage their disease non only in the community but also during the short time in hospatal. I like title but just need to gather some more ideas
How about looking at weaning respiratory failure patients from ventilation with a focus on nurse led weaning
That would be a great title but not much out there to support my argument:(
I did a bit of a Google search and there was quite a bit on weaning patients with chronic resp conditions. It may be you lit search generically and use the evidence to develop guidance for nurse led
