Help me choose!!!

Published

I am currently overseas with my husband in England. He is in the military and we are suppose to be here for a few years. I just recieved my LPN degree and license this summer 2010. I was accepted into the RN program back home in NY. I obvioulsy did not go. But that is okay now I just need help to finish up my goal and dreams of being an RN. I really want my associates first and later down the road my Bachelors. I know about Excelsior College but what else is out there??? I have looked and looked and nothing :( I found one college that is in Ohio state but you have to live in that state to do their online program. SO Please if anyone knows more options that would be great. Also, if anyone thinks Excelsior is really awesome let me know that may have to be my option. Thanks in advance for your help.... :)

Just a girl trying to be all she can be!

My family and I lived in England for several years around 2000 when I was sent there by my company. Was probably the highlight of our lives. England is a great place, tons of stuff to do and if that gets too boring, you've also got Scotland and Wales. For Ireland, you can take the ferry from Liverpool or Cardiff over if you run out of things to do in Britain proper (although Ryanair flies to Dublin for as something like £25). Is your husband is the USAF stationed in Mildenhall? If you're there, its just a short ride to Dover, where you can put your car on the chunnel train and spend a long weekend driving around Normandy or up to Bruges in BE. You should have a great time. Get a hold of the CAMRA guide to British pubs - it's invaluable for finding the places with real ale and good food.

With respect to "the college in Ohio state", I'm not sure if you're talking about Ohio University or the Ohio State University. I can tell you for sure that the on-line RN-BSN program at OU is not just for residents. The tuition is a tiny bit more for out-of-staters (or in your case, out-of-country), but anyone can enroll. There are a lot of postings on this site about Excelsior - just do a search and you'll find them.

Cheers!
