I would like to study and work for a while in the United states but I have no idea where.I am an african on scholarship studying nursing in Japan.Oneday I want to go back home, but before that I need to get my first degree and 2nd degree if possible.I am thinking when my present scholarship ends,ie I get my first degree,I would like to move to the US and study fo rmy 2nd degree while working.I do not know how this is possible. Also there are so many states in the US,I have no idea which is a good place to do that.

Could you please recommend any states for a person like me.I need a place where working would pay enough to support myself in sch too.Your advice will be greatly Appreciated.

Check out the international forum, there is a bunch of information there on moving here from other countries to work

Have moved your thread to the International Forum since it is more specific to being a foreign nurse. There is no way that you can come to the US and study and work full-time with the student visa. You actually need to prove that you have enough funds to cover your schooling and living expenses.

Right now, the US is under a retrogression, so it will be difficult to get a green card which is permanent residency for the US to live and work here. Completing school here does not give any preference in being able to remain in the US when you finish schooling.

Please take the time to do some reading of the stickies that we have here and then let us know if you have further questions.
