I am completing my last semester of my BSN program and need to do my final project. It is 120 clinical hours and a project at the end (implementing a policy, doing staff education) My problem is I need to try to shadow someone at night or eves. My husband works and I have no babysitter. I don't know any one in this city (just moved here) HELP!! Any ideas? I'm in Naples, FL. Thanks so much.

Where I live there are 24 hour daycares. Not my first choice. You could check around. You could also contact some local colleges that offer early childhood education programs and see if you could post a notice looking for help. Many times college students can be more flexible in their hours. Good luck to you.
I'm sorry...I need to clarify. My husband can watch my children only on nights and eves. That's why I want to shadow someone nights/eves. I'm trying to think of advance degree nurses (BSN ++) that work eves, nights.

Working with an educator or administrator on night shift might be a little tougher. Can you shadow a house supervisor or an APN on night shift? Try the Florida Forum for more specific suggestions.

How about an urgent care or ED? Some facilities use NP's in this area. There are also some evening/weekend nursing programs, esp. at community collges where you may find educators who will work w/ you. You may also want to see if your local community college has a nurse who works w/ the sim Man in the nursing skills lab. Often the labs are open in the evening. Good luck!

hospitals are 24-7 last time i looked.......shouldn't be a problem at all. degree nurses work all shifts. try an ICU for the accuity and overall complexity of problems found there. :wink2:
