Help with my assignment please!!

Hi!

I have an assignment at the moment that I am really struggling with and would like some other peoples opinions on please.

I have a T1DM patient that just had a hypoglycaemic episode. He had his insulin and did't eat afterwards. The nurse gave him some simple carbs in a glass of orange juice and his BSL is now at 4.7. BP- 105/65 HR- 72 RR- 16 02- 99% T- 37.3.

I now have to come up with ALL the POSSIBLE nursing diagnosis for the next 2 hour period. I have a few but would like some other people input!

Thanks!

What do you have so far?

what do you expect to find if you assessed someone with a low blood sugar? Work with those possibles. Also, educate the patient on the relationship between food and insulin (sounds like the nurse needs educating as well!)

Who puts sugar in orange juice anymore? That is an outdated thing. Just saying :)

As the OP stated... what do you have so far. We love to help, we don't do the homework though.

I thrive on this stuff, it makes you feel like you are actually becoming a nurse when you learn what to look out for. The fact that you get to come up with ALL POSSIBLE nursing diagnosis's makes it kind of easy. I'm sure you had no problem with this.
