Hello everyone!

Hello everyone! I live in Southern CA and finding a job (heck...getting in an interview) is near impossible without any previous experience. I graduated back in 2008. Because of personal reasons, I did not start working right after I graduated. I've since had a daughter and have been a stay-at-home mom. While I enjoy it, I'm ready to get back into the nursing field. It has been more difficult thank I thought, since many hospitals are not hiring "new grads" and want experienced nurses. I took an ACLS class this weekend and realized how much I miss the hands-on practice. There were also a couple of new grads going through the same thing. I'm hoping to get hired in med-surg because I feel it will help me refresh my nursing skills. Any suggestions as to what else to do while I wait?? Classes?? Volunteering??
