Having trouble deciding

Published

I have been bouncing back and forth deciding about which routes to take to pursue my nursing career. I have decided to go the LVN route. I was planning on going to American Career College but have read some not so good things about it. I am not interested in the CC route because I dont have the time. So what private or for-profit school ( whatever you want to call it) do you recommend? Any recent experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am in the O.C. area.

I did my LVN at Concorde Career College in San Bernardino... not sure if there are campuses around your area though. It's expensive. I paid 20,000 for my program and it was one year. I liked it and took it for what it was. There was drama in our program.. but that had to do with personality and that didn't matter to me... as long as I got my education. But anyways I finished in Aug 2006 and start my BSN program in Jan 2007 at CSUSB. I worked as a peds home health nurse for 6 months and decided to stop to focus more on school because it was getting tough! But back to the LVN ) ... is there a reason why you don't want to go to a community college? Either way, it may be depending on your circumstance... but good luck and I hope you find a school that suits you... ask around! (tip: look at board pass rates for the schools!) :nurse:

If I were going to do it, I'd do the community college or ROP route. Here is the main website: Regional Occupation Program (some of the website set ups are hard to follow but there is good information once you get the hang of what you're reading). I wouldn't pay more than a CC or ROP charges for LVN. I know North County has an info meeting upcoming in September.
