hand hygiene

I am a new nursing student. They tell us to wash our hands constantly, which makes sense because pathogens are everywhere, but this is harsh on my hands. We can use lotion but it has to be oil free. What are some good brands of lotions that are oil free, fragrance free and hypoallergenic?

I use lotion at home. I don't take it with me. I use jergens and carmex. You will learn after time how to manage it so your hands don't dry out. I did. I just use my lotion at home all of the time. After every shower and definitely before bed. Your hands will adjust. Mine did.

In my facility there is bottles of lotion at the nurses station that is provided by the hospital. While at work I just use these. At home I use what I want. I can't assume that the facility that you are at would be the same but I would guess that it would be.

I use a lotion called Working Hands. They sell it on Amazon, and probably elsewhere. It comes in a little green jar, and it has worked wonders for my hands. I used to go home every week with my hands literally bleeding. My clinical instructor recommended it to me.
