h4 to h1

hi everyone

I have done my degree in nursing from india. right now m in USA on h4 visa. i want to convert it to h1 to work here. I dont have my SSN right now. can i sit in NCLEX exam? Do i need some documents from my earlier employer in india as well?plz guide.

    What state do you wish to live and work? Do you have 2-5 years of recent nursing experience (it's preferred to be in a specialty area such as critical care)? Do you have at least a BSN?

    Most nursing jobs do not qualify for H1B visa status as it is a specialized employment work visa. Very few employers are willing to go through the cost and paperwork involved (all costs must be borne by the sponsor not the candidate) to sponsor for H1B especially with a surplus of citizen & PR nurses seeking work in much of the US.
