GSU Spring 2010

I submitted my application for Georgia State University's nursing school last week. I thought I would start a new thread for everyone that is applying for the spring. I know that I will be checking my mail box religiously over the next few weeks!

I just received my acceptance letter for the traditional track at GSU starting Spring 2010. I also took the Regent test this semester, but I'm not sure about the results yet. Does anybody know or have experience that if for some reason I do not pass the test, will this affect my admission? I appreciate your feedback.

Congrats Atlanta203,

I believe you have a very interesting case. One thing I know for sure is that I had a friend who forgot to take the regent test past a certain amount of credit hours at which point they made him take some regent classes during which time he could not register for any other classes because of it. This was in Georgia Perimeter College and I am not exactly sure what Ga State policy is regarding the regents but I am pretty sure they are very much standard across the board. And the regent test is a state requirement, so schools don,t always play with it. It will be wise if you talk to .... who is an undergraduate advisor at the Health and Human Sciences building on the 8th floor.I believe she has walk-ins on Wednesday before 2pm or you can make an appointment.I am pretty sure she is well placed to address your worry. Could you tell us what was you net score and gpa was and did you choose the traditional?

I wanted to let all of you know that I got my letter on Friday. I was out of town and couldn't check my mailbox until this morning. I was accepted into the accelerated program! Good luck to everyone! I hope all of you receive your letter soon!

congrats Mixolydian!!!

Mixolydian is about time.I thought you would have been first to break the news.bdanders and I are still on the back seat.Congrats!!!I hope we catch up with you guys soon. And please don't be going out of town in critical moments like this, lol. You deserve it.Good job!!!

Congratulations Mixolydian! I am glad that people are starting to find out. Did you sign the forms and send them back in yet? I looked at the schedule and it is a bit intimidating. Excited but nervous.

Quick question ... what exactly was included along with your acceptance letter, the response form you're suppose to return, the schedule, anything else? thanks!

The packet included the letter, a form to accept the slot, the nursing school policies and procedures to be signed and returned, info about orientation(jan 8th), the classes for january etc. Basically just the checklist for what needs to be done before January, including completion of prerequisites. Hope this helps!

thank you sscholf.

I'm going to turn in the forms today. I think the schedule will be pretty tough. I've heard that the first semester is the hardest part of the ACE program. Everyone says you just have to make it through the first semester, and then it will be o.k. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Thanks bdanders! I wanted to thank you for sending me the private message last week as well. I wanted to reply to you, but realized that I'm not able to because I haven't made enough posts. I really hope you get your letter soon!
