GRE exam

For those that have taken the GRE exam, how long did you prepare? Also, is there a certain section of the test scores that a NP program would want you to be better at? (math, verbal etc)? Thanks!

I studied sporadically for a month, only a few hours a week and reviewed one of the GRE books on my own.

I would talk to the advisors at programs you're interested about scores, they should be able to tell you the average or range of the scores of applicants they accepted into the program. A competitive GRE was part of my MSN requirement but I heard some rumors lately some programs are no longer requiring the GRE. Your best bet is to talk to the specific programs you are interested in.

I studied for about a month with a Kaplan book. Did practice tests, memorized the top 200 most frequently asked vocab words (well, the ones I didn't know), reviewed math formulas.

Result: V: 570 Q: 650

Good Luck!
