HOW MANY STUDENTS DO THEY ACCEPT PER APPLICATION PERIOD? WHAT'S THE INTENSIY LIKE IN THE PROGRAM? I'M THINKING OF APPLYING FOR FALL AND ANY INFO YOU CAN GIVE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Grayson?...Anyone?

hello,

I applied also to Grayson RN program for Fall 2010. The general reply back on the question and answer sheet from Grayson is 20-23 points to have a good chance of getting in, but each semester it varies on what kind of applicants apply. There was another link on here that said last year one person got accepted with 26 points and here friend got in with 24 points. Hopefully that helps. Good luck too!!! Lets hope we both get in!! :) :yeah:

Let me add also that I have a couple of friends in the program now and they love it!! The instructors are very helpful and nice. Wonderful Program, highly recommended to me.

OMG!! I hope we both get in! Thanks for writing back to me; I didn't know if anyone was evening applying to Grayson and if they are, they're sure being tight-lipped about it!! Grayson might be my saving grace- I applied to Brookhaven College, in which all my pre-reqs have been geared towards their program in particular, but I am still lacking 3 classes to get into their program, so I am pretty sure I won't be considered there until Spring 2011! Which brings me to Grayson...I lack 3 subjects for their program...SOCIOLOGY, ENG II, SPCH!! I don't want to take those courses though unless I have to!! Also, I'm out of county so I don't get the in-county points towards grayson and I made a B in Micro- so...I only have 20 pts.! I hope it's enough to get in?!! Did you turn in your packet yet? :)

HealingHand2,

I'm happy to hear your friends are enjoying the program..that makes the program even more appealing to me! I just want to hear back from one of these schools as soon as possible, yay or nay, because the waiting and wondering is driving me crazy!! Do you know when Grayson sends out letters of denial or acceptance for this application period? :banghead:

The letters should go out after May 20th because you still need to summit final transcripts by that date, if you are taking classes now. I am out of county as well, so I am also missing those 2 points too, but have 26 points. Good luck for both of us!!! :nurse:

Good for you!!! You will surely get in!! So, 26...is that the norm for acceptance? If so, then I'm SOL! Next applicaion period, I'll have 32.23 pts. for Brookhaven, so I have a good chance at getting in for next spring, but I don't want to wait anymore, it's killing me!

I know what you mean about taking all of the prereq at different schools and what they require. You can spend more time taking all of the different classes, not to mention all the money for the applications/transcripts and entrance exams. I had to pick two/three schools and leave it at that, which all three had the same class requirments, except for about two classes. I am on the waiting list for collin, but to get accepted there I would have to retake two classes to get an A from a B. No Thank you!!! Better chances at Grayson!! Great, Great Program

Hey, but at least you're on the short list at Collin!! But, if you prefer Grayson, then go for it!! I think you're going to get in!! You should be proud of yourself!! :yeah:

Hey, don't get discouraged yet! Still apply, 20 points is still good. Have you looked into Grayson LVN school, you only need A & P 1 and 2 and the deadline to apply is June 10th. At least you can get your LVN (1 yr) then bridge over would be much easier than trying to get into any ADN (2yr) program. I have a friend doing that now. She also loves the program there. Keep your chin up. You can do this!!!! :nurse:

Thank you, Healinghand2, I appreciate the vote of confidence!! Ummm, I've never really given the whole LVN thing much thought or consideration; It's got its pluses & minuses going the bridge route, but thanks for the info! I did apply for the RN earlier in the week, so I'm still optomistic because, you just never know! Have you heard of anyone admitted with 20 points recently? And also, how many applicants apply per cycle at Grayson for the RN program?
