I graduated last thurs from our PN program......it has been a very long year...will i go on for RN....not sure yet....as i cant wait to start work...
I have been a stay at home mom for 20 yrs.....i decided to go to school last year for nursing.....I LOVED IT....it was tough, but i got thru with flying colors!!.......i can jump right into RN school cause all my classes transfer from 22 yrs ago form my degree in early childhood....people tell me i am nuts for not going on.....well...i am 45 and i am really not in this for the money.....it is something i love to do....
i start a new job july 10th....i wanted to wait til atleast august 1st....but training starts the 10th......it is with the state....how cool is that....it is with the handicapped who have lots of mecial needs......alot have trachs and all have g and j tubes....both are very interesting to me....i loved doing it in lab and when i had a chance to do it in clinical...i knew thats what i wanted to start out doing.....i love suctioning......am i weird for that?
anyway....just wanted to share some good news.....
oh one more question.......i am waiting to hear when i take the boards.....in the meantime...i have saunders Q&A review and another review book......should i also study from my notes and text?
We took a state regulated test and i got above average......it comes back with what you need to review....which is nice......i walked out of there thinking....WOW.....cause i guessed on alot of the questions.....i was thinking...if NCLEX is anything like this....then i am in for it.....
good luck to all

momtojosh,
Congrats!!!! Your patients will be very lucky to have a nurse who there because she loves the profession.
I used Saunders to study for Nclex. Its really up to you through. If you feel weak in some area you can use notes and text. I recommend lots of practice questions. .
Good luck and hopefully you'll here back from the state sound so you can get out there and make a difference :).
