Grad School

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Graduating with my BSN in May 2016. Should I continue on to grad school or wait? If I continued it would take me like 5-7 to get my masters or DNP and I would work full-time as I continued school.

Suggestions???!??!?!?!?!?!?

Why don't you find out what nursing is all about first? Figure out what about it you like and don't like. Discover your interests. You'll make a much more informed decision on what type of graduate degree you want that way.

I concur with the previous poster. Take some time to figure our where your interests lie before taking the plunge to enroll in graduate school.

Graduate programs (e.g. masters and DNP) are terribly expensive in this day and age. Make sure it is what you want to do before jumping in.

I suggest you work first. There is a glut of nurses going back to grad school right now.

I concur. It seems as if everybody (and their mommas) has enrolled in graduate school. People are especially jumping aboard the family nurse practitioner program bandwagon right now, and this phenomenon may result in reduced wages for FNPs in the future.
