GPC students please respond

Hello,

I'm trying to get an idea about the schedule in general. What are the timings of classes generally ? How many days of clinicals is done and what are the timings ? Also can we be done by about 2.30 pm on most days and what are the start timings.

I am trying to pick a school for my child and any information you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Are you going into first semester? People in 1st year might better answer your questions because I'm in 4th sem. but I remember we had class every day all day for about the 1st 3 weeks. You have something every day and clinicals were from 7-3 on Thurs and Fri.

I am in 4th semester also...but I do recall that for the first several weeks....at least the 1st 3-6 weeks we went just about everyday....if we did not have lecture we had checkoffs or seminars that we had to do....then when clinicals started we were there (at the hosiptal) from about 6:30 to 2:30 or 3ish (sometimes later) on Thursdays and Fridays as well as class several times a week along with doing more checkoffs and seminars as well as the clinicals......its a pretty full schedule.....its like a 8-5 job M-F!

Thank you so much for responding,

On the days that we don't have clinicals, does the day start at 9 usually or can we have classes before 9. Also does the number of days in clinical vary or can it be other days than thu and Fri. My problem is that my daughter's school is very close to GPC Lawrenceville but I can only drop her off after 8.30. I can keep her in after school though until 5.pm, so I'm trying to figure out how many days a week will I have a situation where I would have to start before 9 am.

Thank you again,

Basically you're at their mercy as far as scheduling goes. You can count on having something every day of the week, usually starting at 9 but sometimes at 8, and clinicals are 2 days a week from 6:30 or 7 - 3. I think Fundamentals still have clinicals on Thurs and Fri but I'm not sure. You can't pick your clinical days.

Keep your schedule open during the week. And plan to do alot of studying on the weekends.
