Any word? I am currently not in school there (I finished all of my pre-reqs somwhere else) so I feel totally out of the loop! I applied to the L'ville campus for Fall '06.
It is so hard to wait!

Dear LakeMommy-
The wait is killing me. I also applied for Fall 2006 to GPC. I am trying my best not to stalk everyone in nursing admissions. I went and talked to Renee Wright in February and she just pretty much said I am competitive enough to get in but she could make no promises. :) I have heard that it will be the end of the first week of May for letters to go out. Would this mean Thur...Fri...? I dont know-but I am dying! I run to the mailbox everyday. I am so tense at work-I am snapping at people!
Did you apply anywhere else? I only applied to GPC-I missed the deadline to get paperwork in to NGa by ....2 days. Yeah-it took me a few days to get over that one.
My science GPA is 3.5, I passed the NET (I dont remember the score) My overall GPA is a 3.1. A little low b/c I did not do so well a billion years ago when I was younger. But my calling life is to be a nurse! I will keep hoping and praying for us all! :) good luck
Which campus did you apply to?
I am really feeling the pressure. I have 4 kids that I have to make arrangements for if I should get in.
I also applied to NGCSU, but I didn't get in.
I have about the same grades as you. I made an A in A&PI, a B in A&PII (missed the A by 10 pts!!) and I currently have an A in Micro (finish up this week). Is that all that should be counted in the Science GPA? I also have a previous degree in Business from GPC (not sure if that helps me at all!).
I made a 77 comp on the NET. I remember when I sat for the test (4/8, I think), someone in the test asked what a good score was. One of the teachers answered and she either said an 80 was rare or a 90 was rare. I wish I could remember.
I am nervous about the program. I don't like what I have read so far, and am trying to take that with a grain of salt.
Anyone else waiting on a GPC letter? Hurry up letters!!!

I am also waiting on a letter, but I have serious reservations about GPC. I am not sure I will go there even if I am accepted.
I applied for the Lawrenceville campus also. It is definitely closer to my house. I will take Clarkston if I have to though in a second. I am in awe of everyone that I have taken classes with that has kids! I have worked full time while I have been taking the core classes and I think that is hard-you have done great in the science classes...all with kids!!!
When I talked to RW in February, she said that my science GPA of 3.5 is better than most that apply to the program-so maybe our good science GPA's will be the saving grace if that is what it comes down to for competition.
I read on another thread here that about 700 people applied to the program at GPC. I have heard that alot of people do apply that are not yet qualified for the program. I am not giving up yet. I told my husband the other night that I am "all in" betting that I will get into this program. I cant see anything past getting that letter in the mailbox! My mail runs at about 3pm everyday-I will be waiting for that mail truck tomorrow! :)

I've come to commiserate. I've applied for fall 2006 as well and like yourselves, I have not received my letter yet. There's been this knot in stomach ever since I took the NET on April 6. I did just get my results from the test (78 composite) and had assumed that they would let me know if I had been accepted then, but no...
I kind of wish I knew either way... at least then I'd be able to relax. I'm sure this goes without saying, but whomever receives their letter FIRST, make sure you let the rest of us know. Good luck!

I'm right here with you guys ! I'm waiting to here from GPC Lawrenceville. This is driving me NUTS!!!! I can't sleep, I'm eating everything in sight, and I'm driving my kids bonkers running to the mailbox everyday. My hubby keeps saying, "if it's meant to be, it will happen".
I too am a little worried about the comments made on the program. I know it's going to be hard, but I'm in for the long haul.
I applied to Athens Tech, but I waited too long to take the NLN there so I have to apply for Fall '07 I was thinking about applying to Georgia Baptist at Mercer University Campus. They have a BSN program, and I've heard sometimes those are easier to get in due to more people are taking the ASN route.
PLEASE post right when you guys hear anything! GOOD LUCK!
I will for sure post if I get a letter. My mail comes about 3pm too.
I was hoping there were others on the board waiting for GPC. Thanks for responding.
To the person that said they also took the NET on 4/7...do you remember what she said was rare on the test...80s or 90s? It is killing me trying to remember what she said!

Well count me in everyone! I am also sitting on pins and needles waiting for the letter for GPC Clarkston. I have been going totally out of my mind. I heard that the letters were starting to go out on the 1st of May so of course for the past two days, I have ran down to the mailbox and with no luck. I made an 84% composite on the NET (in NOVEMBER) so I have been going out of my mind for far too long now. I have a 3.something for my science cores. I am not really sure how to calculate in everything, I am just ready to get something so I can relax a little. God bless and everyone and my prayers are with each of you that we will get our acceptance letters very soon.

I've taken everything BUT Micro Bio.
Chem. B,A
A&P I and II A,A and B,C (Took my lab to try to get C up to B or A during this semester - don't know grade yet)
English 1101 B
Math 1101 B
Psyc. B
Abnormal Psyc. (Don't have grade yet)
U.S. History B
Political Science B
Word Processing Skills A
Intro. to Communcations B

I've also taken both parts of the Regents (3 and 70%), and NET (67%) horrible composite score, but passing is 60% - this is the only thing that I'm worried about!
Good Luck!
lakemommy24 - I believe Renee Wright said something to the effect that anything over 80 is excellent and that she had only ever seen a few people score much higher than that. But like you, my memory is a bit hazy. I also remember her saying that the composite score must be above 60 in order to pass.
