GPA to work

Hello All an update to my journey of finding a position as a new graduate. Today I happened to contact an Atlanta Hospital in HR through email. Basically just stating that I was wanting to get some feedback about my resume. I had applied to so many there. Let me say I am thankful she called me back this will help others before they graduate......

The conversation started by her stating that she had received an email from me and that she was calling with feedback. Her first question was what was my GPA. I responded by stating that my GPA cumulative was 2.95. My program GPA is 3.4. Her response was well I can speak for this Atlanta location that is why we have not called you back cause you do not meet the minimum standard.

I really do not understand how to interpret that outside of exactly what she said you don't meet the minimum standard. Has anyone else heard of this?

Thanks for any feedback and for any still in school take heed to this.........

Many new grad internships have implemented a minimum GPA required to even be considered for an interview. You apparently do not have a high enough GPA to qualify for their new grad program. This is a result of their getting hundreds of applications for each new grad opening most likely. It lets them eliminate a large chunk of applicants in one swoop.
