GPA for MSN program

Published

I know many schools require cumulative at least 3.0 GPA for MSN admission. I have cumulative 3.4 GPA but i have one course(fundamental nusing) only got C+. I'm worried that this terrible score would affect my admission. Will the school look at overall GPA or they require some important courses you have to get "B" or better? Is my terrible C+ a problem for most MSN program? Thanks!

Anyone can help answer the question? Thanks!

I would think it depends on the individual program. Just my opinion, but I think most would just concentrate on overall GPA.

Honestly, I don't think one C+ will be detrimental to your future, especially considering that you had an overall 3.4 GPA.

One school I applied to required that no grade could be under 3.0. It would probably be good to ask the program directly. I would think that what you have done after your BSN would count for a lot--your experience as an RN, your recommendations, etc. These would help balance out that one grade that is under 3.0.
