i am in school hell! whew! so...i have made many poor choices related to my education and now i'm paying for them. i have an msn in management and leadership. went back for a post-msn as an adult health cns and graduated in may 2006 and have been working in a nephrology practice since then. however, the economy stinks as we all know and i'm the only mid-level in the practice that can't see kids so since i'm 5 years from my msn if i was returning to school, i had to do it now. so...august 2009 i started a peds cns program. i'm slated to be done in july. clinicals are absolutely doing me in. we have to do them inpt and there is only one hospital that has peds and its of course the large teaching hospital. have been doing clinicals all week. i just walk around, last in line with the med student, junior resident, senior resident and attending and we traipse into rooms and out of rooms, i'm lucky to even see the child!
i have another 200 hours to do but am going to beg to do them elsewhere. i'm thinking of going back to an er setting where i at least have a chance of seeing children!
and...it doesn't help that i am used to being very independent in my practice.
okay - thanks for listening - i feel better....
