Got Sleep?

Because I sure don't. lol.

I know this sounds SIMPLE to ask..but how do you make yourself "get" more sleep?

I'm averaging 5-6.5 hours. For some people, that is enough. For me, I need at least a solid 7.5.

For some reason, if I get less than 7, I am so prone to my reoccurring depression. I also eat like

crud and have more hunger pangs. I have mood swings and make the silliest mistakes. (ie. I pour

coffee grinds right into my cup instead of in the coffee maker ...or I put a book or hairbrush in the fridge

among other things..as I rush in the morning to get ready.)

I just have no idea. I feel like I basically have to come straight home from school and force myself to

sleep. I don't feel like there is much time in between. I wake up at 6am..and get home at 9pm...:imbar

Besides even being in school--I tend to have sleeping issues. But I'm breaking out...getting fatter..

and just feel completely burnt. I don't live up to my abilities when I am tired and I cannot stand that.

So many people can do well without sleep...that's how I know I will never be a doctor. I just am not

willing to sacrifice my sanity like that lol. There are other ways to make money :p

So any ideas on how to get sleep? How did you guys get into a solid sleep schedule....?...or do y'all

even sleep???:smokin:

Sounds like you should see a provider.

i hope this is not considered medical advice- but i take an herb called valerian root. it helps w/ sleep, as well as depression. and it's inexpensive- about $4 at wal-mart- mods if this is considered medical advice- sorry- wasn't really meant that way

Inbox,

I have the exact same problem. Even as I write this it is 2AM. I have the same problem with weight gain and silly mistakes. My long time motto:

I'll get plenty of sleep when I'm dead."

I am on top of my game when I have enough rest, but its difficult to juggle everything sometimes.

hugs,

Charlie

***this is NOT medical advice***

I've had sleep issues for the past few years. I finally went to my dr and got a script for a popular sleep aide that starts with an A. For me its great. I can get by on very little sleep and can function ok, but who wants to live like that?

Sleep, good sleep, is so essential. Go see your doctor asap! So many ppl suffer from sleep issues but there IS help for you. My script only costs $6 for 30 pills cause its available generic.

I am struggling with this too.-- Icome home from nights, sleep 3-4 hrs and can't sleep anymore.

my house is quiet anddark, not sure what else to do.

I really want to avoid medication

Thanks you guys! Yes--I was thinking about a prescription..just worried about possible pregnancy. I know the chances are extremely slim...but still...a tad worried. Just gotta be safe I suppose!

I think I can sleep..but I still wake up after 6 hours at most. It's like even when I skip caffeine..and I am tired..my body just does 5-6 hours. Ugh.

I tried valerian root..it's "ok". Thanks everyone :)
