Got the ATT

I submitted all the paperwork to the board and just recently got my approval to test. Does this mean the board has approved my application with a criminal history. I'm in California. I also got a letter from the board stating I was found eligible to test. What exactly does this mean? Can they still deny me after I take the test. I'm confused

Yes, they can still deny you even after authorizing you to test.

Has this happened to you?

Has this happened to you or anyone you know here in CA?

It hasn't happened to me, but people do post about it occasionally. If you search the site, you should find some first hand accounts.

Good luck to you.

Can you tell me how long it took from application to ATT? Also, how did you submit your documents? Several of my classmates and myself scanned ours and two of my friends got a letter requesting records to be sent. I did not receive a letter requesting records. I'm nervous. Either I am still waiting on that letter or my scanned documents were sufficient.

I sent my application by mail in February. I got another letter requesting certified documents about a month latter and just got the ATT a week ago.

They can still deny a license. I applied to the BRN in December 2017 and I scanned in my documents. I got my ATT in February 2018 but I never got a letter indicating whether or not they would pursue anything further. I called the BRN and they told me over the phone that I was cleared and would be granted an unencumbered license if I passed NCLEX. Well I passed NCLEX and I did receive a license WITHOUT any restrictions. My advice is to call the BRN and ask because you don't want to find out you passed NCLEX and were given a provisional license at the same time. That would be a bummer.

I know many people complain that the BRN never answers, but they have answered the times I called. I called as soon as they opened and waited 35 minutes to talk to someone, but they did eventually answer. Good luck!

I submitted my documents online by scanning them. I did not receive a letter requesting any documents.

Just a FYI. I never received the good news letter and just found out I passed and my unrestricted license has been posted!

Well I took the nclex , passed and my license was posted 2 days later. Unrestricted. So I guess you don't have to receive the good news letter.

Which documents did you have to submit with your license application? I have a DUI with BAC .11 from 9.5 years ago (nothing else) and am set to graduate December of this year. I've read so many threads that are basically telling me to give it up and not even apply for license in Fresno CA, but then I come across threads like this that give me hope.

I'm wondering if I need to submit my explanation letter, certified court documents, letters of reference, rehabilitation information online (or mail) with my initial application or do I wait to submit everything when the BRN denies me and asks for it?

Hello, I was wondering if you'd be able to answer some questions for me.

I have a DUI with BAC .11 from April 2009 (9.5 years) I am set to graduate December '18 and wondering what paperwork should be submitted with my initial application. Should I submit my letter of what happened, certified court documents, letters of referene, and rehabillitation proof with my initial application or should I wait to submit those documents when the BRN requests it?

I have came across quite a few threads that basically say there is no way CA will license me and I'm becoming discouraged with all the mixed information. I hope someone with experience going through this will be able to helpme.

Thank you in advance!
