You will get better feedback on this question in the International nurses Forum section or go in the NCLEX Discussion. All the best. By the way are you in the UK? If so do you know if for definate NCLEX is being taken in London in January and from where exactly? Thanks

Here is a website from the American College of Nurse-Midwives on foreign educated CNM's.

If you go to section 5 Advanced Practice Nurses this will give additional information.

To be a CNM in the Az you must have a bachelors degree followed by a Masters or Certification of at least 9 months in length. Not sure if it is different for nurses who were educated overseas. The AZ board of nursing would be able to tell you.

You might try contacting one of the local CNM practices about jobs and certification. This is the one I use for my gyn care and where I had my kids.

Good luck.

You will be required to do some additional training over here to be able to get your certification. With the CNM credentials over here, you are able to prescribe medications, therefore had to have had a class over here because of the changes in the nomentclature for quite a few of the drugs that are used.

Same thing as a physician coming over here, they have to redo all of their training. You won't need to do that. But as stated above, best thing to do is look at the AZ BON website under advanced practitioners. It will give you all of the requirements for this state.
